Abstract

ABSTRAK – Air dingin didistribusikan dari sistem pendingin ke dalam ruang laboratorium dan perkantoran di Instalasi Radiometalurgi (IRM) menggunakan sistem pemipaan dengan spesifikasi Schedule 40, dengan berbagai diameter nominal. Umur pakai dari bahan pipa, dipengaruhi oleh berbagai hal, salah satunya adalah korosi yang disebabkan oleh konstituen yang terkandung dalam air, yang dapat mengikis/ mengurangi ketebalan dari pipa. Mengingat adanya keterbatasan umur pakai dari pipa, maka dilakukan analisa berdasarkan perhitungan pengurangan (depresiasi) umur pakai pipa instalasi air pendingin di gedung IRM akibat korosi. Berdasarkan perhitungan kecepatan korosi normal, maka diperoleh umur pakai pipa tanpa menggunakan water treatment : 5 hingga 8 tahun, sedangkan dengan menggunakan program water treatment : 22 s/d 37 tahun. Artinya umur pakai pipa instalasi akan bertambah hampir 5 kali lipat jika menggunakan program water treatment yang sesuai. Hal ini akan meghasilkan penghematan biaya perawatan/penggantian sebesar 80 % per tahun. Kata kunci : Pipa, umur pakai, korosi, depresiasi. Abstact –In the Installation of Radio Metallurgy (IRM), cold water is distributed from the cooling system into the laboratory area and office use with schedule 40 piping systems and different nominal diameters. Lifespan of the pipe material is influenced by many factors, one of which is corrosion caused by constituents contained in the water that may erode or reduce the thickness of the pipe. Therefore, because of the limited lifespan of the pipe, it is necessary to analysis and calculation of the reduction (depreciation) lifespan of the cooling water pipe installation in the building IRM due to corrosion. In this paper the analysis will be performed to calculate the reduction in lifespan of pipes with and without a water treatment program. The results obtained by calculating the speed of normal corrosion, lifespan of pipe without the use of water treatment is 5 to 8 years, while using a water treatment program is 22 to 37 years. This means that the lifespan the pipeline installation will be increased by almost 5 time if using an appropriate water treatment program. Thus will be obtained maintenance or replacement cost savings of about 80% per year. Keywords: Pipe, lifespan, corrosion, depreciation.
