Abstract

ABSTRACT DESIGN VERIFICATION OF ADVANCED REACTOR. FUEL LATTICE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS. The neutronics analysis of fuel performance of the advanced reactor, has been succesfully done with the computer simulation. In this case, the AP600 reactor, one of a few advanced reactor types, was chosen. as an object. The analysis was limited on the fuel lattice characteristics to get connections between the infinity multiplication factor and the atomic ratio of moderator to fuel, and also to determine the characteristic of the moderator temperature coefficients. The simulations were done with using of WIMS-D4 code and assummed that core is regularly arranged by homogeneous cell units within cold, clean, unborated conditions only. The results showed that AP600's fuel lattice has undermoderated behavior and the moderator temperature coefficients are negative and agreed in safety aspects of nuclear reactor operations. ABSTRAK VERIFIKASI RANCANGAN REAKTOR MAJU. ANALISIS UNJUK KERJA KISI BAHAN BAKAR. Telah dilakukan analisis neutronik dengan simulasi komputer terhadap unjuk kerja bahan bakar reaktor maju. Dalam kasus ini, dipilih reaktor AP600 sebagai obyek. Analisis dibatasi pada tinjauan karakteristik parameter kisi bahan bakar untuk mendapatkan hubungan di antara faktor perlipatan tak-hingga dengan nisbah atom moderator terhadap atom bahan bakar, dan juga untuk menentukan karakteristik koefisien reaktivitas suhu moderator. Simulasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan program WIMS-D4 dan teras reaktor dianggap tersusun dari satuan-satuan sel bahan bakar yang tercampur serba-sama pada keadaan reaktor dibatasi hanya pada keadaan ding in, tanpa xenon, dan tanpa boron terlarut dalam air. Dari hasil anal isis, diperoleh bahwa kisi bahan bakar AP600 bersifat undermoderated, dengan koefisien reaktivitas suhu moderator berharga negatif. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa rancangan bahan bakar AP600 memenuhi aspek keselamatan operasi reaktor nuklir.
