Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengembangan teknik pengukuran radioaktif partikulat. Langkah pertama dalam penelitian ini adalah pembuatan 10 buah serat filter dari labu oyong. Serat tersebut di tekan dan dipanaskan sehingga dimensinya setara dengan filter standar (fibre glass filter). Ukuran diameter filter 110 mm dengan kerapatan masa (628  7,5 %) mg cm-2. Efisiensi filter-filter tersebut dibandingkan dengan filter standar. Kedua macam filter di uji untuk menyaring radioaktf partikulat di udara. Radioaktif partikulat yang berada di udara dipompa selama 30 menit dengan kecepatan 691,5 liter per menit, kemudian filter-filter tersebut dicacah dengan menggunakan surveymeter portabel yang telah dikalibrasi. Konsentrasi radioaktif partikulat yang terkandung dalam filter serat labu oyong sebesar (2,07  5 %) pCi m-3 atau (0,04  5 %) nCi. Konsentrasi radioaktif partikulat yang terkandung dalam fibre glass (dengan ukuran tebal 8,5 mm 5 %) adalah ( 0,54  8 %) nCi m-3 atau (11,13  8 %) nCi. Dari hasil tersebut filter labu oyong dapat digunakan sebagai filter alternatif di dalam pengukuran radioaktif partikulat. DEVELOPMENT OF RADIOACTIVE FILTER TECHNIQUE OF PARTIKULAT ABSTRACT Development of radioactive measurement technique of particulate has been done. The first step of this research was the making of ten fibre filters from pumpkin. The fibres were pressed and heated so that the dimension of filter was similar with standard filter (fibre glass filter). The sizes of filters were 110 mm in diameter and mass densitics were (628  7,5 %)mg cm-2. The efficiencies of pumpkin fibre filters were compared with standard filter. Both kind of filter were tested to filter partikulate radioactive in an air. An air particulate radioactive was pumped during 30 menutes with the rate 691.5 liter per minute. Then the filters were counted using calibrated portable surveymeter. The concentration of particulate radioactive content in pumpkin fibre filter was (2,07  5 %) pCi m-3 or (0,04  5 %) nCi. The concentration of particulate radioactive content in fibre glass filter (with the size of 8.5 mm  5 % in thickness) was ( 0,54  8 %) nCi m-3 or (11,13  8 %) nCi. From these result, the pumpkin filter can be used as alternative filter in measuring particulate radioactive.
